Why invest in a modern online presence with new brand identity, professional website, and photography – even if your business is doing great?
You have a business you’re proud of. It’s running well – maybe even very well. Orders are coming in, loyal customers are returning, and word of mouth still works like a charm. So… why change anything?
Let us share a story that stuck with us: in our village, a bakery closed down. Not just any bakery – a family-run institution with over 130 years of history. And although it was right in the center of the village, it suddenly shut its doors. After more than a century.
That made us think. Not because we believe tradition and quality don’t matter anymore – quite the opposite. But because the way people connect with a business has fundamentally changed.
Back then, things worked differently
Forty years ago, the internet wasn’t a topic – in Switzerland it only became publicly accessible in the early 90s. Customer relationships were built through personal interactions, chats in the shop, village life, newspaper ads, or a poster at the train station.
Today, it’s different. The generation of today (and the ones coming next) google first. They search for the feeling you radiate – online. And that feeling isn’t built by chance or by simply offering a solid service. It’s created through design, through images, through words. It’s created on your website, on your Instagram feed, in your overall presence.
People buy where they feel understood
Building a business today means building trust. And trust comes when you show up authentically. With a brand identity that doesn’t just look nice but conveys your values. With visuals that move people. With words that stay in their minds.
Juliana and I experience this ourselves. We almost exclusively buy from businesses that speak to us emotionally. That feel honest. That show through their design and visual language: “We know who we are – and we see you.”
And it’s not just us. This has become a general mindset. People no longer just buy a product or service. They buy a feeling, an attitude, an experience.
What about businesses that are already doing well?
That’s wonderful. And we’re always happy to see how many businesses thrive even without a strong online presence. But there are usually two scenarios:
-
Those who sense it’s time for change
They realize a rebrand or new website would take them to the next level. Their current presence doesn’t fully reflect who they are or want to be. -
Those who think: “We’re doing fine – why invest?”
Totally understandable. But from our experience: just because something works now doesn’t mean it will in five years.
An outdated online presence is like a shop window with faded posters. You see that something’s there – but it doesn’t invite you in.
You don’t have to overhaul everything
This isn’t about radical change. It’s about honest reflection: does your online presence reflect what your business truly is today? Do clients feel as connected on your website as they do when they meet you in person?
Because first impressions happen more and more often in the digital space. And that’s exactly where the magic of a modern, emotional, and contemporary online presence begins.
In short – the takeaway:
If your business is doing great – even better. That might be the perfect moment to strengthen it for the next 10 years. Not only through great products or services – but through a modern brand identity, a website that excites, and images that capture the essence of your business.
